Lucas North, who was born John Bateman, is from the BBC series Spooks ( MI-5 in America). Lucas is introduced in the seventh season (series )as the former head of Section D, a counter-terrorism division of MI-5.After being captured and held prisoner in Russia, Lucas returns to the U.K. and is eventually reinstated to MI-5. He is said to have once been the best in his field and now he is trying to regain that status. Lucas North first appeared in "New Allegiances" and last appeared in "Series 9, Episode 8" and was of course played by Richard Armitage.  |

Richard as Mr.North looks usually very cool, but I love his melting smile that he seldom shows. He may be one of the talented actor who can play a person of complex character.

Okay thanks to youtube I am having a crash course on Lucas North. I've seen some of the other seasons of Spooks/MI-5, but for whatever reason, more than likely idiocy, the local station that was showing it never got to Richard. I've seen some of the ones with Matthew Macfayden and Rupert Penry Jones. But now I have seen a couple of short videos that have Lucas North. One has commentary throughout about the down fall of Lucas North, with Richard sounding wonderful. And the other one is a few minutes of the death of Lucas North. That one made me teary eyed.
So I have finally now seen a steady stream of Richard's acting, instead of just tidbits, to say he is more than just a handsome face. Which from everything that I have read online that is no surprise.

Now the first few seconds aren't too good but it does get better.
